Mac'nCheeseApr 9, 09:46 PMYeah for common ground! Our relationship just hit an inception point and I think things are looking up. :)
Nothing wrong with a fun disagreement, though! Time to hit the hay, have a good night!

MacbookSwitcherMar 29, 03:18 PMI agree. Given the last Ford we purchased leaked and after 6 months of trying to fix it, the Ford dealer said "well, everything leaks" and said they'd give a good deal on it to trade it in if we wanted. And the last GM we had stalled every morning when you were pulling out on to the road and the dealer said that it was "just the way the car was made," and could never fix it I wouldn't buy an American made car unless they started getting good reports both for quality upfront (they just sound cheap compared to a Honda, Mercedes, Lexus, Porsche, or Toyota) and for quality over 5-6+ years of ownership. And the previous American made cars we had were of similar low quality.
So for the last 11 years, I've been buying non-American. It is too bad, but the quality is not there. I even looked at one with a friend in November and it was the same deal.
An iPhone made in the US would be double the price due to high taxes and regulation. Quality, who knows, but the cost would be prohibitive compared to everyone else. It would be the fastest way for Apple to kill itself. If Apple *could* do it, they would, but it is impossible.
It is competition - if you can't compete on quality or price, you are out of luck. Unless you can get a handout.
Yes, clearly because labor unions ruined Ford and GM, that means ALL American products are garbage. Including Apple, Google, Oracle, Cisco, Boeing. All of them. Brilliant logic there, genius.

MacBook Pro & MacBook processors untouched
Maybe they want to make sure all of the issues with the Core Duo models are resolved before they begin a processor switch on those models.
After some of the things that popped up on the MacBook and MacBook Pro, I think they will take a bit more time before they launch the revision to make sure it is perfect.

blakbyrdAug 5, 10:49 PMCan Adium do videchat to MSN? (with audio! There's no audio on the videochat's in aMSN:mad: :p )
You can't do video or audio chat with Adium, and won't be able to for a year or two at least. :(
I'm just hoping for some official support sooner or later with iChat or the official standalone clients. :)

-aggie-May 3, 09:16 PMI notice I'm not mentioned in DP's post. :)
I have some questions to the masters or whoever.
What do the AP POINTS have to do with this game? It seems like only HP matters.
You wrote HP subtraction would be determined at random. Are you saying one person could get all the points in your example in the OP.

Hildron101010Mar 30, 05:55 PMDear Apple
PLEASE can we have a UI update, even if it's a minor one (for instance, iTunes 10 scrollbars rather than the blue aqua ones). Just some extra polish really.

They already redid the ENTIRE interface. It looks really awesome. I've used it in the first DP build. It doesn't need to be changed anymore.

bedifferentMay 4, 07:24 PMQuite true, I'm pretty sure it was. But at least it's possible somehow.
You can burn Lion already. In LionDeveloperPreview2/Contents/SharedSupport burn the "InstallESD.dmg" to a single layer DVD or a USB drive/stick.
Creating a bootable OS X 10.7 Lion disc (Update: …and USB stick) (http://holgr.com/blog/2011/02/creating-a-bootable-os-x-10-7-lion-disc/)
What was hard about previous installations ? Pop CD in, run upgrade. Same process.
You didn't have to boot off the SL CD to install it, you could start the upgrade process from Leopard just fine.
True. Yet I miss the "Archive and Install" option that was replaced by "Time Machine" backups. Somehow "Archive and Install" didn't carry over any issues with a 10.X upgrade whereas I noticed that some upgrades over a previous OS or using your last "Time Machine" backup carry over or create issues. I'd rather erase the drive, install a clean OS, then copy over only necessary documents and reinstall important programs manually (and port over the plist's from the previous OS in a "Time Machine" backup restore point folder).

mikeappleMar 29, 10:22 AMWherever I have good internet connection, I have my Local storage ... I can buy music over the air and listen to it on my iPhone... and get it on my iPod Touch.... Don't see why it needs to get more spacy.
Alot of people will enjoy this but personally, I wanna OWN my storage, not subscribe to it... plus listening to music off a drive saves more battery then having your 3G/4G or WiFi pulling to get your music.
Oh and when you having ****** coverage, (back of a grocery store) what happens then to your cloud playlist??

foureyedsoulJul 30, 07:45 PMBut then the acronym would iPP :D
True - but in order to make long-time Mac users feel like they're the "in-crowd", they could call it the "Wild iPP" (pronounced: "eep")!:D
All it would take for me to become seriously interested in an Apple-branded phone would be for it to have an easy way to sync iCal and Address Book with my Mac, although if they're actually making one I assume they'll put some nano-sized music storage on it to keep it in line with the iPods.
Apple's all over "ease-of-use" strategy implies that they could definitely be the first company to make something that's a PDA, phone, and music player in one that doesn't look like a prop from an old cyberpunk B-movie - and is priced for consumers rather than business users, of course.

Soura2112May 4, 03:08 PMApp sounds good in theory and less discs are good except this is an important disc to have. I want the disc. Also I buy family packs so how will that be handled?
When my G5 was having problems I NEEDED those discs badly! As long as there is a way to create your own disc I'm cool with it. I have had to many drives go bad to fully rely on them so this is certainly debatable.
Apple needs to show how the app would work better then a disc to sell me on the App. I do like the fact of not having to wait at the store and everything else.
How about both? Let me download it then send me a disc and family packs. Have 4 Macs in the house so it could get expensive in the long run. (well 5 but my G5 can't run Lion).

This is going to be very, very interesting. Especially since apparently I'm married to Eldiablojoe. Now I understand why he killed me in the last game.
He has quite the appropriate name then.

HuntnMay 3, 09:19 AMMetric system should be in the U.S.. No point in keeping an odd system.
For manufacturing, my impression is that the U.S. does use metric. Maybe that is because most stuff is manufactured overseas or for something like automobiles, they are marketed worldwide.:o However for living around town, I like my miles, inches, gallons, and pounds.

MobilMe Becomes Free
MobilMe gets laden with 1Ads
All part of the Apple strategy
I would be happy to keep paying $99/year for adfree Mobilme
I agree with that.

-aggie-May 4, 09:00 PMCan we get an explanation from the gods, since this is the first game in this format?
KingCrimsonApr 18, 02:57 PMInteresting that Samsung Group is a much larger corporation to Apple, but only have $4.5 billion in cash reserves. While Apple has $50 billion and counting.
IconicMApr 20, 08:56 AMBeing that iP4 and iP5 will have the same form factor, wouldn't it make sense for Apple to make the 4 the same as the 5, i.e. no glass on the back and whatever other external changes the 5 brings? I would think they would be able to save money...same on the outside, different on the inside.
So maybe it will be a release of the 4S and 5?
koobcamukMar 29, 07:36 PMHard for me, even as an Apple fan, to weep too much for a company that chooses to do business overseas isntead of here in America, employing Americans.
Hopefully the situation in Japan improves -- for reasons beyond this.
Oh do shut up. America doesn't have the technology. Furthermore, I am sure prices of your beloved Apple products would increase almost tenfold if Apple didn't have to pay Chinese peasants to make your shiny toys.
stuffradioMay 7, 02:58 PMNot sure what you guys think about this, but I think it would make sense on the iPhone if they somehow integrate iAds into it... otherwise I'm not sure why they would take a $99 service and make it free.
Sweetfeld28Dec 5, 12:14 AMi think this would make a good revision of the newly rumored 12" MacBook Pro.
